Itahari: India-based literary writer and literary activist Surendra Limbu Pardesi has been unanimously elected as the  chair of Global Federation of Nepali Literature (GFNL).  GFNL is the umbrella literary organization of Nepalese literary persons living all over the world.

The 23-member world central committee was elected unopposed by 3-member election committee chaired by Krishnaprakash Shrestha (Russia) along with two members namely Madhu Acharya (USA) and Bishwasdeep Tigela (Brunei) on July 10.

Taiwan-based Dr. Lekhnath Kafle has been elected as senior vice-president and vive-president duo include Denzom Sampang from USA and Sabitra Luitel Ghimire from Israel.

Similarly, Afghanistan-based Kedar Sanket, Isreal-based Sunita Rai Kandangwa and Nepal-based Khagendra Adhikari have been elected as secretary general, secretary and economic secretary respectively.

Likewise, Canada's Hari Siwakoti and Nepal-based Ramesh Kandel have been given organizational secretary and literature communication coordinator respectively.

Unopposed elected members of GFNL World Central Committee includes Bijaya Hitan (UK), Rahul Rai Bogiko (Manipur), Lakshman Neupane (Myanmar), RL Shramjiwi (Belgium), Mohanraj Khanal (Myammar), Kalpana Poudel (Nepal), Dilip Rai Sagar (Malaysia), Amit Chamling (Kuwait), Lalbahadue Thapa 'Bagale Chhetri' (Saudi Arabia), KB Poudel (Nepal), Nawaraj Pokhrel (Romania), Mamta Tamang (Bhutan/USA), Bhuwan Roka (Japan), among others.

This committee has tenure untill 2020, says GFNL. The oath of office and secrecy will be administered on July 14 on the eve of birth ceremony of Nepal's pioneer poet Bhanubhakta Acharya, informs newly elected chair Surendra Limbu Pardesi.
